Finding himself in a surreal purgatory, newly dead teen Yuzuru Otonashi learns he'll vanish unless he joins a rebel group led by gritty Yuri Nakamura. After a mysterious accident, a high school student awakens to discover that he is caught in some kind of violent afterlife. Realizing they need more weapons in their battle against Angel, the group descends into the Guild -- but it's rigged with deadly traps. With the aid of a genius hacker known as Christ, Yuri and the Battlefront decide to break into Angel's lair and steal secrets from her hard drive. With the lead singer of Gldemo now obliterated, a replacement must be found. Yui tries desperately to assume the role.

The song tells the story of a person who has lived a simple life and bearing witness to people who come and go as that person stays as a mere witness of it. Within the latter half of the sequence, 11 flashes of the current episode's events are shown, although slightly obscured by the effects used and the speed of display, and moments after 2 flashes of Otonashi scenes. Another version of the credits focus on Yui, performing the same song as if it was her audition performance for the role of leader of the band Girls Dead Monster Girls DeMo.
